KRYTSIA is a large-scale initiative aimed at supporting the recovery of Kryvyi Rih and its region, with a strong focus on improving the lives of local residents — both the wider community and those most at risk.
The project’s goal is not only to overcome today’s challenges, but to build a resilient, people-centered environment that promotes well-being, strengthens social cohesion, and ensures equal access to opportunities. We aim to foster a capable and forward-looking community, ready for innovation, economic growth, and positive social change.

A Comprehensive Approach to Development
The project KRYTSIA: Suppor the Recovery of the Kryvyi Rih Raion goes beyond standard recovery programs. It not only contributes to infrastructure restoration but also creates the conditions for long-term regional prosperity. Its key areas of focus include:
- Economic Development: Supporting small and medium-sized businesses, creating new jobs, and attracting investment.
- Quality Education: Improving educational infrastructure, access to knowledge, and opportunities for children and youth.
- Safety and Stability: Enhancing security, building school shelters, and protecting citizens.
- Energy Independence: Implementing modern energy-efficient solutions to ensure a stable life for residents.
- Strong Local Governance: Strengthening institutional capacity for effective management and attracting international support.
Scale and Funding
The project launched in 2024 and will run for five years. It is being implemented jointly by PROMAN and Lux-Development (LuxDev) with financial support from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The total project budget is over €50 million, allocated to key initiatives.
Why Support Kryvyi Rih?
Kryvyi Rih is the longest city in Europe and one of Ukraine’s main industrial centers. Following the occupation of several industrial regions, the city has become a key economic stronghold. Despite ongoing challenges—shelling, blackouts, and proximity to the front line—Kryvyi Rih continues to grow: new businesses are opening, the population is increasing, and urban infrastructure is being modernized.
- Economic Impact: Developing Kryvyi Rih’s economy contributes to Ukraine’s GDP and restores the country’s industrial potential.
- Educational Potential: Nearly 80,000 schoolchildren study in the city and region. Investing in education is an investment in Ukraine’s future.
- Vocational Training: Dnipropetrovsk region leads in vocational education enrollments in 2024. Improving educational facilities will help train skilled professionals for the national economy.
- Safe Learning Environments: Establishing shelters in schools will allow children to return to in-person learning, which is crucial for their development and socialization.
- Strengthening Local Governance: Effective local administration means attracting additional resources and international partnerships for sustainable regional development.
